The Burjess approach encourages close interaction with the client's team to define the current state leadership culture, delivery systems and communications cadence.  We look to identify the processes the business uses to reinforce the vision and strategy - how does the leadership team communicate?  What is the communication cadence?  What set of metrics are used to determine if the organization is winning or losing?  Is the organization accountable?

Simply put, we look to identify clarity of purpose/vision, organizational alignment, engaged leadership, effective work teams and a communication process and cadence that reinforces what is important.

Roadmap to an Improved Future State

​

Defining the current state is only 1/3 of the work - the real work begins in establishing a future state roadmap that aligns with the desired vision and culture.  The Burjess deliverable is not a slide deck.  The output for this work stream is an actionable roadmap - with ownership and accountability, timelines, and specific actions that will provide the organization with a clear foundation of effective leadership.  While we work hand-in-hand with the leadership team, we stress the importance of sustainability during this type of transformational change.  In the end, leadership must engage and remain engaged in order for the future state to be achieved.  In any organization, people engage in the initiatives that their leadership engages in.  If there is a lack of leadership commitment to sustainability, the organization will see this type of change as yet another "flavor of the month" vs. a meaningful change that will ultimately make the business better.  It is hard work - but it can be done - and Burjess team can help.
