Vision. Plan. Action. Grow.

A PRACTICAL APPROACH TO BUSINESS

With Burjess, don't expect an overabundance of slide decks - we take a practical approach with our clients. We start with the basic premise that data is important and improvement is possible and continuous.

Our typical approach starts with a detailed mapping of the business model and organization in order to honor the current reality. This process includes day-to-day interaction with all levels of the organization - not just senior leadership or a strategy team. We seek to understand business processes, systems and the talent that drives the business - this defines the Current State.

The next phase focuses on where the business wants to be.  Using a collaborative discovery process with an emphasis on the opportunity set, we set out to envision a better future for the business - this involves Strategy, Structure and Execution Path - this becomes the Future State vision.

This is where Burjess is different.  Using our experience in a variety of industrial operating environments, we help build the roadmap for success.  Once the vision and plan are set, we focus on organizational alignment and accountability.  We help build the leader priorities and communication cadence that becomes the cornerstone of a successful business capable of delivering sustainable and scalable growth.  We answer the questions of:

  1. Why do we exist?

  2. What are we trying to build for the benefit of all stakeholders?

  3. What specific actions are we focused on that are aligned to the vision?

  4. How are we doing in our efforts?  Are we winning?

  5. What is the perception of our brand and the strength of our culture?

An integral component of our deliverable is flexibility.  Depending on an organization's specific needs, we can also focus on discrete workflows to address short-term operational improvement - examples include Pricing Excellence, Policy Deployment or Succession & Exit Planning.  We don't attempt to be all things to all people.  If an organization's needs are outside of our domain expertise, we maintain a network of specialized partners that stand ready to engage with our clients.
